Vitaliy Klychko, Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Oleh Tyahnybok are currently in a meeting with Volodymyr Shapoval, Head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) demanding that manipulations and election law violations be ceased in the districts, where the victory of the opposition candidates is certified by voting protocols with wet stamps. The opposition further demands that the victory of the opposition candidates in these districts be officially recognized. If the documents are damaged or the actual voting results can’t be summed up, then new elections should be held there.
In addition, the opposition urges the President and the General Prosecutor’s Office to bring to justice the election law violators, as well as all those involved in the electoral fraud. Judges, heads of election commissions, and law enforcement officers who abused their office should be held criminally liable.
In an interview with journalists, Klychko said, “We would like to ask our President, the guarantor of the Constitution of Ukraine: if he can’t ensure the rule of law, why do we need him?”
The opposition called on the people to keep protesting in front of the CEC in order to stand up for their voting rights. The meeting will resume at 6:00 pm.
