"Yanukovych closed a path to any compromise by an attempt to disperse peaceful demonstrators, which some public figures and politicians called for. There can be no compromise with people, who do not respect the right to express opinion. That night riot police used batons, once again implementing force scenarios. Yanukovych has no desire to communicate with people, he understands only physical strength, which was used against peaceful protesters. So the only way to make a difference is to execute pressure on the president and the government so that the country will hold early presidential and parliament elections", said Vitaliy Klychko.
He also said that there is a chance of provocations in the future.
"Today the Internal troops retreated from the square. Now "titushkys" may come. Now we receive information that many so-called "titushkys" under the guise of protestors are trying to infiltrate among peaceful protesters. I would like to emphasize, that EuroMaidan is a peaceful action, and any form of aggression is a provocation by the authorities", the leader of the UDAR said.
Vitaliy Klychko was also surprised by good-for-nothing attempts of authorities to justify the use of force against peaceful activists by the need to clean up the city center. "It seems that utilities have approached “Berkut” to help clear the city of garbage. If you want to clean up the streets, why it should be done on 2 a.m.? ", Klychko said.
The politician also said that all at meetings he urges foreign colleagues to adopt personal sanctions against Yanukovych and his entourage.
