Statements by Mykola Azarov about the requirements of the European Union to legalize same-sex marriages for visa-free regime, is a deliberate and malicious distortion of facts. It is unacceptable for a politician who holds the post of the Prime Minister, MP of UDAR and head of Anti-Organized Crime and Corruption Committee of the Parliament Viktor Chumak, commenting on today's speech of Mykola Azarov at the rally it the European Square.

According to Chumak, the main requirement for EU visa-free regime is the adoption of effective anti-corruption legislation that would include provisions for greater transparency in the procurement of state enterprises. However, the Government of Mykola Azarov tries to block consideration of the bill, inventing absurd "requirements" of the EU, which have nothing to do with reality.

Viktor Chumak notes, that the second key requirement for a visa-free regime with the EU is amending the Labour Code , which prohibits discrimination against members of various minorities in their labor rights. "The efforts of Mr. Azarov to bind same-sex marriages with the real requirements seem completely inadequate", UDAR MP summed up.
