Klitschko says authorities put people beyond the law

Today the authorities made the citizens of Ukraine outlaws, the leader of UDAR Vitali Klitschko said from the stage of Maidan.

"After today’s events in the Parliament, the people of Ukraine were deprived of civil rights and liberties and, in fact, were placed out of law. According to these laws, which they have stamped, standing at the Maidan is prohibited, setting up tents is prohibited, talking about corrupted judges is prohibited. And much more things are prohibited”, Klitschko said. «At the same time, the authorities can intimidate, beat activists and terminate the driving licenses and property of AutoMaidan activists, and ignore the demands of the citizens", Vitali Klitschko pointed out.

He noted that Speaker Rybak has quickly signed these "non-laws" and there is hardly any doubt that Yanukovych will sign them too.

"Nothing is done without his knowledge. Yanukovych is personally behind this dictatorship, which now is swelling in Ukraine. It is clear that we can expect nothing from his ruling, which has become the regime», Klitschko said. “That is why the change of power and the Yanukovych regime in Ukraine is our main objective”.

“Today Central Electoral Committee appealed to the Constitutional Court asking for clarification of Constitution provisions concerning the 10 years of residence conditions for presidential candidates. This concerns me personally. The government is doing everything to destroy the main rival of Yanukovych. I would like to emphasize that this is not going to happen! There are no legal grounds for it. I am not afraid. And all of us cannot be intimidated!" the leader of UDAR said.

He urged to prepare for the nationwide strike and come to the People’s Assembly this Sunday.

"Let us show the authorities that no one is afraid of them, and our demands remain the same - early presidential and parliamentary elections", Vitali Klitschko stressed.
