"Today Yanukovych having put himself above negotiations has actually moved away from them and drew the situation into talking and delaying time. He demonstrates once again that he is not going to listen to the demands of the people. The overall responsibility for the further escalation of the situation in the country bears only Yanukovych”, Klitschko pointed out. “Rejection to participate in negotiations means the President refuses to act as the guarantor of the Constitution and protect the rights of citizens. Not only has Yanukovych's government turned the Basic Law in a declaration, but also now they are reluctant to improve the situation, to which such actions have led", the leader of UDAR said.
The Party noted that four representatives of the Maidan Union held the consultation with a group, formed by Yanukovych to resolve the situation in the country.
UDAR was represented by the deputy head of the Party Vitaliy Kovalchuk.
"We passed the demands of the Maidan to the President to a group of authorities representatives and stressed the need for an urgent meeting of opposition leaders with Yanukovych for practical steps to address the acute crisis in the country", Vitaliy Kovalchuk told.
