UDAR leader Vitali Klitschko expressed hope that President Yanukovych will not introduce a state of emergency, commenting to journalists after negotiations between the government and the opposition.

"I hope that this decision will not be made. State of emergency will result in a new phase of the crisis escalation and will take us nowhere", leader of UDAR believes. According to Klitschko, the president has to stop living in the "warm information climate" which his associates create for him. He added that the Yanukovych’s inner circle assures the head of the state that everything is good in the country and what is taking place in the streets of cities across the country is results from actions of a small group of "extremists". "The problem we are facing is a result of incompetent policy of the whole country’s leadership and the cause in not to be sought in people", Vitali Klitschko said.

When asked whether the possibility of Klitschko’s involvement in a new government had been discussed, the leader of UDAR stressed that he does not see himself in Yanukovych's government. "It makes no sense to me to discuss the work at the government. It makes no sense even to raise this issue", the politician added.
