In particular, they met with Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Ukraine Robert H. Serry and Deputy Secretary General for the European External Action Service Helga Schmidt. The parties discussed the situation in Ukraine and possible involvement of the UN and the EU in finding solution to the political crisis and cease of repression in Ukraine.
At the meeting UDAR leader stressed that Ukrainian government should bear responsibility for the terror campaign that had been launched against own people. In addition, Klitschko pointed out that the government should undertake practical steps to meet the demands set by Ukrainian society. He emphasized that a so-called “Amnesty bill” which was passed yesterday does not solve the problem, but only increases the degree of tension in Ukraine.
