The European Union can assist Ukraine only to implement systemic reforms, UDAR leader Vitali Klitschko said during a press briefing in Berlin after a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"We have been discussing the ongoing situation in Ukraine with Angela Merkel for about an hour. We were talking about an acute crisis the whole of Europe is discussing now. I am pleased with the progress of negotiations and look forward to support from Germany which is very important," Klitschko pointed out.

In particular, the parties discussed possible assistance, which Europe is ready to provide for Ukraine. "This assistance, however, cannot be provided to a government of Yanukovych, but technical government, with high public confidence. The government must start implement reforms in the country," Vitali Klitschko stressed.
