"The key challenge which everyone is facing is how to prevent further escalation of the conflict and new victims. The adopted resolution prohibits the use of weapons, implementation of the anti-terrorist operation. All the troops that now stay in the city center, must return to their home stations. This is a very small step, but it paves the way forward. This resolution shall take effect immediately after the adoption. Most important for us was to stop the bloodshed," Vitali Klitschko told.
He said that after the Parliament meeting opposition leaders would go to the President’s office, where together with Foreign Ministers of Germany, France and Poland they would continue negotiations. "We are going to Bankova Street. We will discuss restoration of the Constitution of 2004, formation of a government that has to implement reforms. Those responsible for crimes, committed against the people, must be held accountable. People do not trust authorities. So, in particular, we will raise the issue of early elections," UDAR leader pointed out.
He stressed that peace and integrity of Ukraine is the most important issue today. "We need to resolve the conflict in a peaceful way. Each crackdown may cost the price of people's lives," Klitschko said.
