Klitschko pointed out, that he talked with people of Maidan for a long time. They were outraged that President Yanukovych had not voluntarily resigned. Leader of UDAR said that leaders of opposition had to compromise in order to stop the bloodshed. "I had no pleasure while shaking hands with Yanukovych. But the most important task was to stop bloodshed," he said.
UDAR leader noted that the party initiated the adoption of Parliament resolution to demand from Yanukovych to resign. MPs are to express their position on this. "Yanukovych has to resign after what has happened. It was under his leadership and he must be held accountable," Vitali Klitschko said.
He added that currently the Parliament is the only legitimate governing body in the country. Klitschko welcomed the election of a new Parliament Speaker, because Parliament should operate. "We have to make important decisions for the country in a short time. We must to lead a country out of the political instability," UDAR leader said.
In an interview for "Inter" TV Channel, Vitali Klitschko also stressed that all political parties should work on country’s integrity and prevent imbalance. "It can lead to irreversible consequences. We should adopt important decisions for economy. The key task for every politician remains to prevent escalation of the conflict. It is necessary to take decisions to lower the temperature in the society," he said.
