"This morning I was at Maidan and talked to the people. Their key demand was Yanukovych’s resignation. I promised that today we will do our best to do so at the Parliament. The crucial decision was made. Yanukovych is no longer a President and early elections are scheduled for May 25. I am sure it is a political knockout for Yanukovych," Vitali Klitschko said.
He pointed out that today the Parliament has adopted many important decisions. "We are doing everything to ensure no more blood will be shed in the streets of Ukraine, so that no one dies, so that a restart of power and real reform begins," UDAR leader said.
When asked whether he was ready to run for president, Klitschko said, "I understand the responsibility of such step and I am ready for it. My political activity aims at turning Ukraine into a modern European country."
