Everyone who gave criminal orders against Ukrainian people will be punished. Lustration is to be held In law enforcement agencies first and foremost, UDAR leader Vitali Klitschko said in the air of Inter TV channel.

"No offense will be left unpunished. I am sure that the people who allowed bloodshed, dozens killed and hundreds injured, will be punished," Vitali Klitschko said. According to him, It is strange to see how the representatives of the old regime "run like mice in burrows", and some even had fled the country. "Minister Zakharchenko has hidden, no one can find ex-President Yanukovych, billionaire Kurchenko, who participated in all the schemes of the "family" has also disappeared," - he said. The leader of UDAR thanked border police officers who had not let a number of former officials to escape. "It is important to make sure they cannot cross the border. All these people should be held accountable for their actions," the politician said.

Vitali Klitschko noted that the reputation of law enforcement officers had suffered. "It will take long to restore it. I believe that we should carry out lustration," UDAR leader said. Vitali Klitschko reminded that Georgia could serve as a good example of a successful lustration.

Politician thanked people’s militia units, which had been formed by ordinary people to protect their neighborhoods in the cities. At the same time, Klitschko expressed confidence that there are many honest people and true patriots among law enforcement officers. Vitali Klitschko also told that he had met with law enforcement officials to discuss the measures to resolve the situation in the country. In addition, UDAR leader said he had had a phone conversation with the mayor of Kharkov Kernes and demanded from him to ease the tension in the city and stop confrontation. "I urged him to prevent bloodshed, because some politicians are deliberately manipulating the situation. I asked to stop "Oplot" and titushky. He gave  a promise. We shall see," Vitali Klitschko said.

He stressed that during the standoff the former government tried to play their old card of regional differences. "The government kept on telling about federalization, separatism, and split the country. But regardless of a region, or a language, or history, everyone wants to have a good job, guaranteed decent salary, high social standards and benefits. These are the issues which unite the country," Vitali Klitschko added. UDAR leader stressed that discussions about the split of the country must be immediately stopped. "Those who give voice to such statements must be punished," Klitschko said.
