What is happening now in the country is a hard work of returning the country to democracy. Today, the Parliament should solve the issues which Ukrainian society awaits most. Among them, restoring justice and lustration, and reforms are, UDAR leader Vitali Klitschko said at the coordination board of leaders of parliamentary factions and committees of the Verkhovna Rada.

"We must immediately release all political prisoners. The relevant law was adopted on February 21. A special commission to investigate into crimes of the Yanukovych regime must be appointed with the assistance of foreign experts and weekly reports of the investigation. It is necessary to initiate criminal proceedings against top officials, refer to diplomatic corps for help in finding those who have fled the country.  The actions of investigators, prosecutors and judges who participated in repression against activists must be looked into," Vitali Klitschko said.

He also noted that UDAR insists on ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and ban operation of Internal Ministry special squad “Berkut”.

Klitschko also stressed the need of appointment of a new head of the National Bank, restart of the CEC and redirect the funds provided for needs of the President of Ukraine (until the election of a new one) to help the victims of the conflict.

"We need to put state power under public control. We must quickly form a coalition to proceed to adoption of necessary decisions. But now let us return to normal work of the Parliament. We must show new standards of legality. So I suggest that after the meeting agenda should be formed and Parliament stick to it," Vitali Klitschko pointed out.
