"I am convinced that today we may discuss bills to be put to a vote only after urgent decisions on vital issues for the country are adopted. Therefore, I insist, that you, Olexandr Valentynovych, being aware of the responsibility as commander in chief, should convene a meeting of the National Security and Defence Council,” Vitali Klitschko underlined.”To make all decisions responsible, statesmanlike and understandable to society, heads of all coalition factions and groups should be invited, as well as military and security experts. Invite Kuchma, Kravchuk and Horbulin," UDAR leader suggested.
"How long shall we be waiting? Until all our troops in Crimea are destroyed or captured or until they take over the entire fleet and weapons, which will then turn against Ukraine?" Klitschko stressed.
He also noted the need for an urgent arrangement of a humanitarian corridor to ensure smooth withdrawal of all Ukrainian patriots who are being forced to temporarily leave the peninsula.
"The plan for their deployment and social security on Ukraine’s mainland has not been submitted yet. People are looking for housing on their own. Some of the say they cannot withdraw money from their bank cards as they are registered in Crimea and the accounts are blocked. People do not know how and where they will live. That is why we demand that the government immediately, within a day, must submit an action plan for improvement of lives of those leaving the peninsula and the mechanism of interaction with the citizens of Ukraine who remained in Crimea," the politician stressed.
Klitschko suggested that Parliament had to focus specifically on those issues. "Olexandr Valentynovych, you are responsible for addressing these vital issues for the country. Convene the National Security and Defence Council. Then, we will gather for a coordination board," UDAR leader said.
Commenting to journalists on Turchynov’s remarks that the National Security Council had met at night, Klitschko said that clear decisions of the meeting had not been made public. "Everything happens behind the scenes, no one knows what decisions have been adopted. If they cannot adopt statesmanlike solutions and are not qualified enough to do this, they should attract experienced professionals. Otherwise, all the talks we hear is treason and the path to destruction of Ukrainian army," Vitali Klitschko said.
