“The United Kingdom has done much to support Ukrainian democracy. Now the most acute issue is to stop Russian aggression. Having occupied Crimea, Putin has destroyed the system of European security. Now he is contemplating on incursion into Ukraine’s mainland. Moscow is heating recessionist sentiments in the East and South of Ukraine,” Vitali Klitschko pointed out. “We highly appreciate the recent statement by G-7. We expect the UK and the EU to impose tougher sanctions not only against Russian politicians, but also against Russia as a state. This is the only thing that can influence Putin and stop him,” UDAR leader said.
He stressed the importance of increasing military cooperation between Ukraine and NATO and urgent financial assistance for Ukrainian assistance.
“Today we have to deal with a number of challenges. Ukraine should return to the path of democratic development, conquer corruption, and ensure rule of law to proceed to substantial economic reforms. Honest and democratic presidential election must take place on May 25,” Vitali Klitschko pointed out.
Vitali Klitschko also delivered a speech to the APPG members and the Ukrainian community in London.
