"Ministers of Interior, Defense and the head of Security Service have reported in detail about the developments in the East, and how we are going to take control over the situation. We understand that it is incited from abroad, from Russia. There are special groups who have been working on the territory of Ukraine. We have developed a plan that will be gradually implemented. I hope, conclusions on the counter-terrorist operation will be made soon," Vitali Klitschko informed.
He also stressed the importance of communication with the citizens of the East, providing them with accurate information about the events taking place in the region. "Russian media openly spread false information. Propaganda is spreading. Majority of the population are pro-Ukrainian, but some people influenced by Russian TV channels are fooled into separatist sentiment," UDAR leader pointed out.
The politician expressed his hope that the state of emergency would not be introduced. However, if the situation would not change soon, he suggested that Parliament might consider such option. "We need to urgently pass a bill that will allow involvement of Armed Forces in counter-terrorism measures without the state of emergency declaration," Vitali Klitschko underlined.
