The parties discussed the developments in Ukraine’s Eastern regions and possible ways to resolve the conflict. UDAR leader stated that Ukraine is facing an invasion from Russia.
“Terrorist leaders do not hide their Russian origin. Both our and Western security services have intercepted numerous communications between the terrorists and the Russian command”, Vitali Klitschko noted. He stressed that further destabilization of Ukraine might threaten stability of the whole region.
According to Klitschko, holding presidential elections on May 25 would mark the end to attempts to destabilize Ukraine.
Vitali Klitschko expressed gratitude for the support and assistance from Western countries and institutions. He underlined the importance of increasing meaningful pressure on Russia, so that it stops supporting terrorists, and withdraws military forces from Ukrainian border.
“As terrorists now hold captives, including OSCE monitors, we think it necessary to much broaden our cooperation with Western countries in the antiterrorist operation. The attack is now not only on Ukraine, but on all Europe and its values”, Klitschko concluded.
