Kovalchuk: UDAR insists on early parliamentary elections under proportional system with open parties’ lists

UDAR calls to pass the law on parliamentary elections under a proportional system with open parties’ lists, the head of UDAR parliamentary faction Vitaliy Kovalchuk said during his speech at parliament.

Kovalchuk stressed that parliamentary elections is a step to purge the power. At the same time, he added, it is important to enable citizens to control who of candidates will work in the next convocation.

"UDAR supports the law on elections under a proportional system with open parties’ lists. Other democratic forces declared the same. It is time to confirm your words with acts," faction head said.

At the same time, Vitaliy Kovalchuk added, it is inconceivable that those who were for the most shameful actions at parliament, whose hands are stained with blood of heroes of the Heaven’s Century, continue to enjoy deputies’ immunity and under this protection would be elected again, as they are intended to do. "We must deny abolish the immunity of at least Kaletnik and Oliynik, who were conducting criminal vote on January 16," he underlined.

Kovalchuk emphasized that UDAR urges Prosecutor General’s Office to apply for abolishment of immunity of those who support terrorists, fund separatist movements, and tried to use them in their dirty games. All of them have to be responsible for the blood at Donbas today.
