According to Kovalchuk, the issue of the GTP modernisation has been set in motion for the first time in many years, as the opportunities brought by the International Investment Conference in 2009 had not been properly used.
"Parliament created grounds for necessary preventive measures, so that GTP cannot be used against the interests of Ukraine. These moves were offered by the deputies of our faction. Now it is government that has to immediately find potential investors. For this, possibilities of Ukrainian gas transit pipeline and its condition should be open to all potentially interested in the project," the faction head stressed.
Kovalchuk emphasized that, the companies must cooperate with the government to file clear and detailed proposals on facilities’ upgrade stable filling. "The approval of the law is the first but necessary step. We expect attractive investment proposals, which the government will consider and bring to the session hall for parliament’s approval," Vitaliy Kovalchuk added.
