UDAR leader noted that Ukraine hopes the talks in Minsk may return peace at Donbas. However, Klitschko added, as Russia had constantly broken promises to de-escalate, there is no much faith in Putin’s declarations. Therefore, the peace plan must be implemented under strict supervision of the OSCE and other international organizations.
"On our part, we demand to withdraw of all foreign – including Russian - troops from the territory of Ukraine, as well as terrorists under Russian control, withdraw all weapons and military equipment; to close the border and release of all hostages at Donbas and all Ukraine nationals held in Russia," Klitschko emphasized.
Senator McCain pointed out that the United States would continue to assist Ukraine. "I came to say that Ukraine has many friends in the USA, and many Americans care about what is going on here. Therefore, we believe that Ukraine needs assistance, including weapons and equipment," the senator said.
In the future, according to McCain, US should also provide assistance in training Ukrainian armed forces.
