Talking about the developments in Ukraine, Klitschko stressed that Russian aggression is not limited to a certain region. “The aggression threatens peace and security of the whole Europe, so European community should take it seriously, otherwise it may be too late,” Klitschko underlined. “While Europe is discussing whether it is really Russian army who are fighting against Ukrainians and thinks about the ways to appease Putin, a cruel and horrible war is raging in the very centre of Europe. This war must be stopped. The EU should treat it as their own tragedy in order to provide adequate assistance to Ukraine and put it to an end,” Klitschko emphasized.
Volker Kauder expressed commitment to the support of territorial integrity and European aspiration of Ukraine. He also accepted Klitschko’s invitation to visit Ukraine in the nearest future.
