Klitschko offers to establish a program to train urban managers at the UN conference

The mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko addressed his international counterparts to establish a program training to prepare skilled professionals, particularly for Ukraine. The mayor offered during his speech at the training event “Managing urban transformations in Eastern Europe and Eastern Germany” during the UNO conference on housing and urban sustainable development Habitat III in Ecuador capital city Quito.

“Program of training of skilled professionals in urban management who are supposed to implement changes fully complies with the Habitat philosophy. Professionals is a key to sustainable development of the cities. So let us explore the possibility to create such a program. This is very important for Ukraine”, he stressed.

Also, Vitali Klitschko held a number of bilateral meetings with his international counterparts, as well as politicians and urban development experts.

UN Habitat conferences are held in the bi-decennial cycle with the view to elaborating approaches to sustainable urban development and resolving global challenges world cities are facing. This year the conference gathers urban development experts and delegations headed by mayors of Barcelona, Berlin, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Bonn, Budapest, Cologne, Helsinki, Madrid, Paris, Istanbul, Beijing, Montreal, Rabat, Addis Ababa, Seoul, etc.
